Just bought one, like a loop pedal but for midi. Sync to MTC and is powered from the octopus midi socket. Instant looping! I like to play the 'keyboard' of the Octopus re pitching lines live etc, perfect for grabbing those.
Hey Nick,
Cool! I haven't seen this one.
I recently bought the Singular Sound Aeros (audio) looper.
Before a few years ago I had been experimenting with a hybrid hardware/DAW setup and decided it wasn't for me. I switched to what I would describe as a 3 stage loop recording hardware-only studio setup. Using various sequencers, I first record MIDI loops, then I record those as audio loops (2 RC-505s and 1 Aeros), then I play live to record into my master recorder (Cymatic Audio); with stems recording simultaneously to a second Cymatic Audio.
Two years ago, my inspiration for my portion of the upcoming Octopus release v6.0 was to utilize all of the existing capabilities of the Octopus to build a new view mode that behaves like a Boss RC-505 looper, for MIDI, crossed with the most useful features of LogicPro X. You could say that Solo Recording View is my MIDI looper for the Octopus - although there are a lot of other non-looper related features such as keyboard keys play chords, keyboard transpose, and tons of other stuff.
I'm all in with MIDI looping as my favorite workflow concept.
Best,
Eric
