Hi Nick,

Ok, OS OCT_162_jk03.elf is a 3rd party OS by John Kimble which made certain chnages to legacy (v1.62) operation - I only have a limited amount of information on the OS 162_jk03 edits as follows:

* REMOVED "berlin" edit preview mode
* added .75 track multiplier - this is what I needed for 3/4 time. This is useful for having 12 step tracks run in sync with normal 16 step tracks (like a futureretro revolution 3/4 time) To set the .75 multiplier, hold ">" & ">>" then double click ">>>>" on the TRACK view.

None of the above changes were included in CE OS v5.00, therefore upgrading to v5 will give you Preview Perform Mode (although many bug fixes and some new features come with v5, we were very careful not to change any legacy operation from the official v1.6203 to v5.00).

Edit led Flash_Orange - Edit Preview

Hey there.

I'm on 1.62, this is all I can see from the display on the Octo. My button sequence is click to go flashing orange, click to go green, click to go flashing orange.....etc. At any time a double click will send it red. My last update was OCT_162_jk03.elf.

Hey Eric.

Thanks for the reply. I can get the Octo to output notes on button presses with one press of the edit button so it flashes orange but the manual mentions a blinking green light which I don't see although I do get a solid red light which appears to make no difference........

I believe this has to do with whether a step plays a MIDI note when it is pressed, i.e. when in EDIT Perform, pressing steps in the matrix will also play them. I had borrowed this code to implement some of the Chord Arp features in the new OS version that we're working on. We haven't shared the details on that so you won't know what I'm talking about, yet.

Hi All.

OS 1.62. I'm looking at page 57 of the manual which mentions 'edit perform state' which is accessed by toggling the edit button until it turns blinking green, I can only get it to go solid green, blinking orange and then solid red with a double click. And what exactly does this 'edit perform state' do in this sort of Berlin-esque manner that is so cryptically mentioned?
